HaulScan ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Think Latitude. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the HaulScan mobile application (the "App"). Please read it carefully.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

• Email address (used for authentication)
• Display name (optional)
• Profile information provided during sign-up

1.2 Scan Data

• Barcodes and UPCs you scan
• Product lookups and search history within the App
• Saved items and lists

1.3 Camera Access

1.4 Device & Technical Information

• Device type, operating system, and version
• Unique device identifiers
• IP address
• App usage analytics and crash reports

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Look up product information, pricing, and resale data from scanned barcodes
• Personalization: Save your scan history and favorite items for quick reference
• Analytics: Understand usage patterns and improve the App
• Advertising: Serve ads through Google AdMob to free-tier users
• Safety: Detect abuse and enforce our Terms of Service

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase for authentication, database, and analytics. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy

3.2 Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data. See: Google Ads Privacy

3.3 Product Data APIs

When you scan a barcode, we query third-party product databases to retrieve item information. Only the barcode value is transmitted — no personal information is included in these requests.

4. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
• Scan history: Retained while your account is active; you can clear your history at any time in-app
• Device/Analytics data: Retained for up to 26 months per Google Analytics defaults

5. Your Rights & Choices

5.1 Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us at thinklatitude@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

5.2 Access & Portability

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us.

5.3 Opt-Out of Personalized Ads

• iOS: Deny tracking via the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or go to Settings → Privacy → Tracking
• Android: Go to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

6. GDPR (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data
• Right to restrict or object to processing
• Right to data portability
• Right to withdraw consent at any time
• Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

7. CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used
• Right to delete personal information
• Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

We do not sell your personal information.

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), Firebase security rules, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the App or sending a notification. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
